What if you had a sudden realisation that the following sentence was not true: “We live in stressful times. We have to ‘do more with less’. There is a global recession biting, which means that the struggle is harder than ever before.” What if you saw that this was an illusion? What if you were shown that the reality was, in fact, that there is no such thing as stress, that you actually just ‘made it all up’?
I will show you, in this short book, precisely ‘why’ that is the case. That you have been making it up since you were born. That the system, by which you are doing so, is working perfectly well. But it is the misunderstanding of the results (the feelings), that is the problem.
The feelings of stress... they are real alright. But they are NOT being caused by the recession, lack of money, spouse, children, job, mother-in-law, boss, dog. What’s more, they are your friend, not your enemy.
They are there to warn you that your thinking is not to be trusted in that moment (you know the feeling in an argument when you are REALLY right?!). Yet we misunderstand the system, and think that those feelings should be changed, or the circumstances (that look like they are the cause) should be altered.
But when you see the misunderstanding, you see that there really is not a ‘world out there’ that needs changing at all. You no longer have to control the circumstances. You only need to see how the system is working (perfectly) and essentially ‘do nothing’ with it... as if you have been told how a magic trick is done. Because no one’s mind is more special than, or different from, anyone else’s and this applies to stress too. There is a process at work here that is the same for you and me and everyone else on the planet. The results of having an understanding of this operating system, as soon as you insightfully see it, are that all aspects of your life will be affected.
Once this is grasped, then you understand how it’s best to leave your thinking alone rather than go in and force a change or react when your thinking is skewed - which saves a hell of a lot of time, energy and resource.
When we insightfully see this for ourselves, the game is up! The trick is explained. The illusion dissipates and we are free to live without the burden of self-created stress and worry upon our shoulders. It’s not a case of casting this aside, it’s simply a case of seeing that it never existed in the first place. There was never anything to do. We just made it up!
For too long, we’ve been looking at the behaviour of humans. The understanding within this book focuses on the ‘human’, rather than the ‘behaviour’. Traditional approaches to dealing with human behaviour focus on what has been created (thoughts, feelings and actions). This understanding focuses on ‘what is doing the creating’, which is the same for every living being on this planet.
It is a simple explanation of the human operating system. And what’s more it will give you freedom from your thinking within 24 hours.
