Whereas Europeans unfamiliar phenomenon now known as the cyclone - a swirling movement of air counterclockwise. The mechanism of their origin is not quite clear in our time, but more often it explains in part of the wave theory. Spinning in a giant spiral vortices travel the planet, and their travel cost the lives of thousands, and sometimes hundreds of thousands of people. The number of accidents, lost their homes and livelihoods, and even are underestimated. Scary cyclones have caused distress to people still at the dawn of human culture. Mention of them have reached our time in the literature. For example, during the Greco-Persian wars, when the Persian king Darius I decided to enslave Greece, to the shores of this country was sent a powerful fleet under the command of Mardonius. But as soon as the fleet reached the island of Halkidiki, the outbreak of a severe hurricane, swept ships and sank about three hundred of them, together with their crews. It happened in the summer of 492 BC.
