Dr. Carson Michael’s new book, “Exorcism: A Christian Manual,” is a complete guide to everything you need to know about how to conduct an exorcism. This book starts with the basic theology how and why demons possess humans. From there, a chapter on assessment provides information on what to look for to determine if a person needs an exorcism or not. Once it has been determined that a person needs an exorcism, the next area is describing in detail the actual process of preparing a client for an exorcism, the procedures for conducting the actual exorcism, and the steps to follow after the exorcism is completed. Practical issues, such as what to do if a demon manifests in a church service are discussed to help confront evil however it manifests.
There are 2 chapters devoted to the description of demons that one may encounter. One chapter describes demons that are found in the Bible, such as the python demon and the Jezebel demon. The second chapter discusses demons found in other works, such as The Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, The Arbatel of Magic, and The Testament of Solomon. In addition, special issues such as the exorcism of children, house cleansings, and ghosts are discussed.
