Ms. Hodder has enjoyed a very successful teaching career in Nova Scotia, Canada, which spanned more than three decades. As a high school teacher, Ms. Hodder both taught and learned a great deal about the writing process, which ultimately prompted her to pursue a writing career following her retirement from teaching in 2009. A voracious reader, one of Ms. Hodder’s favorite novels is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The writer who most inspired Lori to try her hand at writing, however, is Don Aker, a fellow teacher who also hails from Nova Scotia. Mr. Aker’s book which motivated Lori is titled Of Things Not Seen. When she is not reading, writing or teaching, Ms. Hodder is very active in competitive sports, such as rowing, running and paddling. She has one daughter, Sasha, who graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in business. Sasha now lives in Toronto where she works for Franklin Templeton Investments as a business development manager.
