Puffy the Cloud and Bristle the Porcupine is another book in the Rainbow Arches Nursery School Series. The Rainbow Arches Nursery School is in the sky just above Featherwood Forest. Mrs. Cloudburst is the teacher and wants to make sure that all the little Clouds who attend the Rainbow Arches Nursery School learn very quickly that they are connected to all things on the earth. The little Cloud has to help someone on the earth before getting home after school is over for the day. Mrs. Cloudburst gives homework to one little Cloud every day. The homework is simple. The little cloud has to help someone on the earth before they get home after school. Down below, in Featherwood Forest the animals there have also to learn they are connected to all around them. Bristle the Porcupine is always alone. He is alone only because he is shy and afraid. When the other animals approach him, he gets frightened and shows his spikes. Some animals stay away from him. Puffy the Cloud has to help Bristle the Porcupine to find his voice and to overcome his shyness. Puffy the Cloud makes sure that Bristle the Porcupine is touched by the gentle leaves. This opens up Bristle the Porcupine to be able to connect with others in the Featherwood Forest. He makes friends and overcomes his shyness.
