More or less the wind does not allow sailing ship to make deep studies. The fact that the need to send such work tools to a predetermined depth, and the wire on which devices are sent, sometimes bends so much difficult for large sailing vessel drift, which rely on the readings almost not necessary. Steam the boat can cause the wind in many cases, the machine is running, held in place so that the cables, which remain almost vertical devices sent into the depths. The advantage of steam vessels affected especially in the manufacture of oceanographic sections and oceanographic surveys of the sea, when monitoring should be performed in a pre-planned locations in advance the planned sequence and, moreover, in the shortest possible time, it is almost impossible for a sailing ship.
