To understand the significance of these letters in the early stages of the Christian faith can be an example of the first of them, the First Letter to the Thessalonians, usually dated around 49 CE?. e.  and, therefore, written twenty years after Jesus' death and twenty years before the appearance of his evangelical biographies. Paul ends the letter with the words: "Greet all the brothers and sisters with a holy kiss. I charge you by the Lord to read this letter to all the holy brothers and sisters "(1 Thessalonians 5: 26-27). This is not just another letter, intended for those who are interested in it: the apostle requires read it and thus to recognize the authoritative statement of the founder of the community.
